Launch of a Green Village " Ploumistra": contemporary clothing incorporating traditional Cypriot "Lefkara lace". International and Cypriot models will show over 50 costume items created in the last 3 years. This empowering community idea is developed from the EU Leonardo da Vinci projects Green Village (http://greenvillage.hylates-eu.com/) and Training in Contemporary Applications of Traditional European Crafts (TICATEC). We are welcoming all artists who wish to present for sale their original products related to the famous design of Lefkaritika Lace. Articles of clothing, pottery, mosaics, jewellery, house items, inspired by traditional Lefkaritika design are particularly welcome. Other traditional Cypriot motives are also appreciated. Trash in Fashion The 1st Open Air Re-Cycled Fashion show was organized in October 2010 by UK Grampus Heritage, Hylates Cyprus, Lefkara Hotel & Restaurant, Lefkara Gymnasium and Aigaia Art School, with the support of Green Dot Cyprus, Green Party Cyprus, Anakyklos Cyprus and Lefkara Municipality. The show was a cooperative effort among many amateur artists as well as art & crafts professionals and designers. It gathered more than 400 people and took place right in the middle of the village, in the street adjacent to Lefkara Hotel.
